Just like I thought would be the case, I stepped on the scales and gained 2lbs!
I’m not overly alarmed at this, as the first 10 days I was on a ketogenic diet, so did lose a bit of water weight to begin with. I’ve moved back to counting calories, as I can never sustain a ketogenic diet for any great length of time (always good to get through a plateau though).
Also, I’m running a 10K this Sunday, and I need carbs to fuel that long run. I’ve also not been able to weight train in the last 10 days as much as I would have liked. I had two things to worry about. I pulled my quad when I was out training for my 10K doing hill sprints, so my lower body workouts were out of the question. Keeping up my runs for the 10K was bad enough, had to take those runs really easy. On top of that my left arm had been niggling me after managing 2 pulls ups a week or so ago, I wasn’t want to risk an injury to my arm either. So, weights were out the game, and my cardio was steady state at best. So all in all, I’m not too disheartened by the weight gain.
My quad now feels good and no niggles in my arm, so after my 10K on Sunday I am good to go! Plus there is still 80 days left of this challenge.
Finally, I am very excited to tell you that I am the latest owner of Craig Ballantyne’s Turbulence Training system! I am working my way through reading this just now, and I’m so pumped and ready to get started on Monday. I am going to get ripped! Have a great Friday everyone, and thanks for reading, Betty xx
